HELICOPTER PILOT LICENCE COURSES

Heli Fly Malta, in collaboration with Eurotech, offers its customers courses to get helicopter pilot licence. The target of the flight school is the achievement of a private helicopter license PPL (H) and, on request, the commercial pilot licence for helicopters CPL(H) according PART-FCL regulation. The student can also add new type rating of ones approved by ATO.

PRIVATE HELICOPTER PILOT’S LICENCE COURSE

Our course allowing you to become a private helicopter pilot includes a theoretical section and a practical section.

Theory training

The course involves approximately 100 hours of theory, divided into these subjects:
Aviation law
General information regarding aircraft
Performance and planning
Human performance and its limitations
Meteorology
Navigation
Operational procedures
Principles of flight

The lessons can be arranged according to students’ needs.
The ATO provides each student with all the necessary teaching materials.

Practical training

As required by point FCL.210.H of the PART-FCL, to obtain the PPL(H) license it is necessary to have completed at least 45(*) flight hours, including:

hours of instruction in a dual-control aircraft
0
hours of solo flight time

Flight times must be booked 1 or 2 days in advance. If weather permits, you can also fly on public holidays. 20-minute test flights can also be booked.

The course includes IMC/S practical lessons.

Those who take the qualification test with the Robinson must also take a safety course.

NOTE: 50 hours of flight time are required to obtain the PPL(H) license with the Robinson 22.

CPL(H) LICENCE: COMMERCIAL PILOT LICENCE FOR HELICOPTERS

CPL(H) modulare

Training for the attainment of the CPL (H) licence consists of a theoretical part and a practical part.

As a result of the attainment of the private patent PPL(H) and the achievement of 155 flight hours, you can undertake the course which includes 35 hours of flight with instructor and dedicated theoretical lessons.

Helicopters used for training are Robinson R22 Beta/Beta II.

CPL(H) integrated

The patent CPL(H) can be attained with 135 flight hours.
